The Richest Athlete Of All Time Was Born 2000 Years Ago 💰🐎
Plus, is this the best football shirt of 2023?
Who is the richest athlete of all time?
A few candidates probably spring to mind.
Cristiano Ronaldo is currently earning around $260m per year from salary and endorsements, the highest of any footballer in the world, and yet he doesn’t even come close to the richest.
What about Michael Jordan? The NBA legend earned $3.3B across his career and currently takes home about $256m a year from his partnership with Nike. Well no, not even close.
Tiger Woods, Lebron James, Lionel Messi, Roger Federer, even if you add all of the career earnings of these athletes together, you will not match the richest athlete in history.
The richest athlete isn’t actually from our generation. This name pre-dates any Forbes-rich list. For the answer, we need to go back almost 2000 years, to a sport that resembles F1 and proves that no matter the year, sport will always have the power to transform lives…
This week’s newsletter is a little shorter, but we didn’t want to end without showing you this incredible kit from fourth-division Italian side Boreale ASD:
Much like our video above, Boreale ASD have taken heavy inspiration from Ancient Rome, and it’s certainly an impressive kit. This isn’t the first time that an Italian club has used stylish shirt designs to grab attention. Venezia has become famous for its fashionable shirts that helped increase merchandise sales by 400% despite the club being relegated.
Boreale ASD’s new kits feature literal works of art and were designed by Rome-based studio Azeta to celebrate the rich local history of the club. The new Boreale ASD shirts were sold out almost instantly upon launch.
